Moorgates continuous success..

With the Winter League Cup Plate Competition coming to an end and the final, involving Moorgate B another two weeks away, attention turned to another of Moorgate's talented youngsters, Daniel Hernandez Black, as he embarked on a series of three tournaments, in a two week period.

The first was the Grade 4 Abbeydale Open, where after an easy win, in the quarter final, Daniel then dismissed his rivals, from Norfolk and Cheshire, in the semi and final, for the loss of just 6 games, with his final opponent having beaten Sheffield's Bailey Cole, in the semi final..
He then moved on to the David Lloyd Winter Grade 3 16 and Under Tournament, where he beat players from Derbyshire, Linconshire and Leicestershire, on his way to the final, where he met another player from Leicestershire, where he recorded a comfortable straight sets win.
His final event was the Graves Winter Regional Tour Grade 3 16 and Under event, where the standard was even higher than the two previous events, although this didn't phase Daniel, as he beat two higher rated opponents, including Sheffield's Reuben Newman-Billington, as he progressed to the final, where he met highly rated junior, Phoenix Weir, who is ranked number three in Nottinghamshire, in a match that went to a tie break, that eventually went the way of Phoenix.
Daniel's excellent run of form lifted him to number 5, in the Yorkshire 16 and Under rankings, one place ahead of his club colleague, Josh Bows.
As well as Daniel and Josh, Moorgate also have brothers Daniel and Jacob Porter, in the county squads, along with Head Coach, Glyn Smith, who has recently made the Over 55 squad.
Moorgate continue to offer great deals on membership, which will soon be supplemented by the popular Summer Club Saver Scheme, which will run from 1st May and offers a 6 week membership, for an entire household, at a cost of just £30, with a generous follow on membership scheme, of £100, per household, which runs until 31st March 2020.
